The IEEE Russia North West Section members are IEEE members - professionals and students in Electrical and Electronic Engineering representing higher education institutions, industrial companies and enterprises located in the North West Region of the Russian Federation.

Meeting of the Section ExCom will take place on May 18, Friday, 16-00 at the Electrotechnical University "LETI", building 3, conference hall of the Rectorate (2-nd floor).

Establishing a GOLD (Graduates Of the Last Decade) group initiated by 6 ETU PhD students - IEEE members has been approved by the IEEE central authorities. We wish the new group every success!

Byeong Gi Lee, President of the IEEE Communications Society gave a lecture at St.Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI". The topic of the lecture was The Era of Communications Convergence and Operation of the IEEE Communications Society.

Alexander D.Gelman, Vice Chair of the Communications Society Standards Board also gave a lecture which topic was Standardization Activities in IEEE - A Service to the membership, Industry, Academia, and the Humanity.

The lectures were attended by both the IEEE Russia NW Section members and students and teaching staff of SPb ETU "LETI".

Congratulations to the Information Theory Society Chapter and the Chairman Professor S.V. Fedorenko on receiving The IEEE IT Society Chapter of the Year Award!
